Selecting a product:
1. The least expensive and easiest to learn product on the market is Power Takeoff Basic. This product shows on-screen graphics and works great with Excel.
2. If you need a more robust program that saves your work and calculates volumes, pitches, etc. Power Takeoff Standard is a great tool.
3. Estimators that require opening Vector files: dwg, plt, pdf, dgn, etc. must use On-Screen Takeoff
4. Overlay Comparison (when using digital plans, you may overlay an original file over a change order or addendum and easily identify highlighted changes) is only available in On-Screen Takeoff.
